A UCLA study found that women who live in a cluttered environment are more likely to experience a surge in cortisol (i.e. the dreaded stress hormone). – So yes, it’s time to Marie Kondo your mess. – Here are 7 things to get rid of, stat. 

1. Gift Paraphernalia

Shopping bags, crinkled gift ribbons, old Christmas wrapping paper. Toss it all.

2. Old Prescriptions

Clean out your medicine cabinet and get rid of expired pills. 

3. Old Towels

These mess up bedroom drawers, kitchen countertops and even your worktops. Be gone!

4. Chipped Mugs

If you wouldn’t feel comfortable giving it to a guest, then don’t keep it in the cupboard.

5. Old Nail Polish

Especially the ones where the lids are stuck to the bottles! 

6. Dried Pens

Is there anything more frustrating?
